Stamhuis builds more than stores. The impressive relaunch of Lakes restaurant in Hilversum is a case in point. This stylish establishment already enjoyed an excellent reputation among local food lovers, but deferred maintenance and a somewhat dated appearance called for a refresh. Stamhuis was brought in to make it happen.
Completed in 10 working days
Stamhuis gave the interior, exterior and extensive terrace an elegant, contemporary and welcoming look. Remarkably, the entire renovation was completed in just 10 working days: interior and exterior work, painting and plastering, and a complete kitchen conversion including its installations.
Contemporary and elegant
The refreshed interior combines contemporary elegance with a warm, homely touch. The restaurant feels significantly more spacious and easier to navigate, enhancing its relaxed, welcoming atmosphere.
Clear sightlines
The large outdoor terrace, with 60 seats, was redesigned too. Clear sightlines, natural materials and distinct areas for sitting, dining and lounging create a complete experience. An organically shaped shade sail above the dining tables makes eating outdoors possible even in less sunny weather. Playfully suspended lights and distinctive decking highlight the beautiful mature trees, which provide natural shade on sunny days. The perfect setting for spending time together.
Lakes Bar & Kitchen
Beautifully situated by the water, Lakes Bar & Kitchen is an ideal place for lunch, dinner or drinks. The restaurant occupies the listed Paviljoen Wildschut, designed in 1936 by Hilversum architect Willem Marinus Dudok. Respecting the heritage character of both the building and its terrace was a central challenge in the design and construction.
